Flat Tire Emergency while Towing our Camper!

We left the Escapee's Escapade on our way to RockHound State Park in Deming, NM. A few miles west of Wilcox, Arizona our tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) alerted us that we had a fast leak in our driver's side rear tire on the Airstream. We immediately pulled over on the side of the interstate to investigate. We called roadside assistance to help. After spending nearly 2 1/2 hours on the side of the road, we were able to make it to our destination, just delayed. You may ask yourself if Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems really work. Sometimes they give off false alarms and they aren't cheap. We were lucky to have our TPMS system alert us of the issue because it did break some belts in the tire, so if we would have continued, instead of having a flat tire we would have been dealing with a blowout.

We immediately ordered new tires and wheels and had them shipped to Discount Tire in Midland, TX where we would be in a few weeks. The staff at Discount Tire in Midland, TX were fantastic. The day of our appointment, they already had the tires and wheels balanced and ready to install on our Airstream.
