Dry Camping in Joshua Tree National Park - What could possibly go wrong?
After our trip to Death Valley, we make our way to Joshua Tree National Park. First, we spend the night at a Harvest Host in Barstow, California. While here we change out our sail switch on our furnace.
Once at Joshua Tree, the furnace problems continue. Things always seem to go awry when you are out in the middle of nowhere and are dry camping. We spend the night covered in blankets, with no heat when our Micro-air thermostat stops working. While we are working with Micro-Air on replacing the thermostat, we take spend our time exploring Joshua Tree National Park.
The Black Rock campground has some pretty incredible views and some great hiking trails. We hike parts of the Eureka Peak Trail. The High View Nature Trail has some fantastic views and a pretty quick ascent followed by a steep descent. We make our way to the Joshua Tree National Park Visitors Center to get a stamp for national parks book.
