Shawshank Prison, Hiking Cuyahoga Valley & Exploring Hudson, OH
This week we take a trip to Hudson, Ohio where we visit the Ohio State Reformatory, Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and try some delicious pizza at 3 Palms Pizzeria in downtown Hudson, OH.
The Ohio State Reformatory is a 250,000 square foot prison that is famously known as the filming site of The Shawshank Redemption. We learn a little about the history of the prison and stumble upon the 2025 ParaPsyCon. a PARAnormal & PSYchic CONvention.
Next we take a trip to Cuyahoga Valley National Park. This National Park was created in 1974 as part of the federal government's Parks to People policy. It was born out of the civil rights and environmental movements of the 1960s and early 1970s. We had hopes of hike to the Brandywine Waterfalls. Cuyahoga Valley National Park With all the rain we got in the last week, this proved to be more difficult than expected. We do finally see the waterfalls, just not how we originally planned. Finally, we walk around downtown Hudson, Ohio. We grab dinner at 3 Palms Pizzeria, then get dessert at Cold Stone Creamery.
