How we Survived and Fixed TWO Broken Windows in our Airstream!

We had two windows break in our Airstream camper! As we were driving through Kansas, we experienced some pretty high winds. The winds were 20-30mph with gusts that reached over 40 mph. Nick noticed something hanging out of the window, so we pulled over to find a broken side window.

Luckily, we were only about 30 miles from our Harvest Host, Rosie's Bar and Grill (https://prairieroseinnks.com/rosies-bar-grill/). Once we arrived there, the staff was extremely helpful in providing us a cardboard box and trash bag to cover the window for the night. The next day we continued our journey to Denver, CO.

We arrived at Chattfield State Park with our temporary window still in tact. Monday morning we started reaching out to Airstream dealerships to find a window replacement. Airstream of Utah and Woodland Airstream both returned our call immediately and were willing to help us. We received a new window from Woodland Airstream that Friday and were all set to move campsites. We arrived at Cherry Creek State Park to find another window had broken! This time, the fix wasn't as easy as the last. The window that broke was our back corner window, which is curved and riveted into place. We called Brad with Thirteen Adventures and spoke to him about finding a quick solution. (Thanks, Brad, for answering the night before Easter and being willing to talk about the issue.)

After speaking to Vinnie's in both Sacramento and Tallahassee, Bill Thomas in Missouri, and Airstream Center in Jackson Center, Ohio. The quickest solution was for us to drive to Jackson Center and have Airstream Service Center replace the window. Our entire summer plans were put on hold, and reservations canceled. We quickly began planning the 20 hour drive from Denver, CO to Jackson Center, OH. We stopped at two amazing Harvest Hosts on the way, Kros Strain Brewing in La Vista, NE (https://www.instagram.com/krosstrainbrewing/) and Whiskey Acres Distilling in DeKalb, IL (https://www.instagram.com/whiskeyacres/). Finally, we arrived in Jackson Center, OH and stayed at the Terraport.

The Airstream Service Center personnel were super easy to work with and had our new window installed in only a few hours on the day of our appointment. We are extremely thankful for everyone we spoke to about our broken windows. Brad  @ThirteenAdventures  answered our call late Sunday night and helped us to determine a quick course of action. Courtney and Ally with  @VinniesAirstream  returned our phone calls and were willing to schedule us at either Vinnie's in Sacramento or Tallahassee. They gave us signs to look for to determine we did not have a frame issue.  @BTCamper  got back to us, but scheduling was farther out than Jackson Center. Once our new windows were installed, we called  @MACVNB  to schedule an appointment later this year to get the new windows ceramic coated.
